Do you have an old NCR you would like more info on?
If you send me some info by e-mail, I can give you some tips or a quick estimate on your brass or wooden machine. (Please remember I do not know much about later style registers.)
I need to know
- Model#,
- Serial#,
- finish, special features (top sign?),
- condition of case, drawer and operation,
- plus information from label under drawer etc.
- OR (preferred) if you want the full Monte… I can do a more formal appraisal including a complete description of what you have,
I can suggest how much insurance (replacement value), and what you could expect to sell it for.
To help you, I will need photos (jpg format) of overall front, side, back and with lid and drawer open. I will charge a nominal service fee of $24.
Plus I can give some tips on the options for selling and the pro’s and con’s of each. I will reply via email with an attached Microsoft Word file with your photo included. Unless you specify another format.
Usually I can reply within two weeks. OR (much faster) I can do a telephone appraisal and call you and tell you about your register and answer your questions.
Please use PayPal service to send payment.
We can do business via US Post Office (snail mail) if you wish or need to send regular photos.
All Checks must include your email address for proper credit.

We have a NCR model 356 made in 1911 for a company in Saint Paul MN. We are cleaning this machine and are trying to find it original color. My father says it had a color code C but we don’t know what the means. We know it’s red brass but looks like the only part that was polished was the outside edge. He says there is a coating on the finish of the register that seems factory since it doesn’t really come off. Would you happen to know if this was factory or was the entire register polished.?
This page will guide you about the codes for the finishes and options like this.

I have an old National Cash Register that I would like to sell. It has serial numbers/model numbers as follows…1415375W, 442-E-L, Class 400, signed “C”, tracer 12258. A label indicates that it was sold by A. C. MacMahon. It was sold to the Moir Hotel Company in Chicago on May 29, 1914. It’s in very good shape. Everything works except the double tape mechanism which seems to have one rubber roller missing. Thanks for any help I can get!

Wondering if you are still doing appraisals. Need one on a NCR 500…have sent several emails.
Hi there!
Your website has been very helpful! I was wondering if you know of anyone in the Boston area that does NCR restorations. I am really only looking for a partial resto as I like the patina and cracked marble. I really just want everything lubricated so it works smoothly again. A re-paint on my flags might also be in order.
Thanks!
Can you tell me if the glass from 711 will fit 311? Thank you so much for your time!
Regards,
Deanna C.
